How the formation of UK-CCL

UK Commission for Consistent Learning (UK-CCL) which is a limited by guarantee as a Non-Profit Quasi Charity with the Incorporation No 05396290 in Great Britain in facilitating Professional Quality Management Standards (PQMS) either through the National and Regional Offices (CCL-NO/RO) or directly via UK-CCL HQ in compliance with procedures as laid down by UK-CCL PQMS 5001: 2005. The Founder of UK-CCL Ralph Thomas (Professor Emeritus) whose firm conviction is that “KNOWLEDGE” do confirms that of a person’s Wisdom, Judgement, Prudency, Ability, Leadership and power of Implementation.

What does UK-CCL Advocate

UK-CCL Advocates Assessment and Verification of Affirmation of Prior Experience and Learning (APEL) and Accreditation for Career Progress Development (ACPD) which is Custom Built to Global Quality Standards. The accreditation of UK-CCL is to facilitate their professional services to the quality standard of ISO 9001:2008, which is focused on meeting customer expectations and satisfaction.

What is UK-CCL’s Mission and Vision

UK-CCL mission & vision is to implement the concept of Lifelong Hands on Work Learning Experience as a legitimate method to earn necessary credit units as the Consistent Learning for Professional Development and gain a Professional Certification under the National Qualification Framework (NQF).

What is unique about UK-CCL’s assessment?

All the candidates’ documents are examined and verified individually by UK-Commission for Consistent Learning (UK-CCL) by their approved professionals in their respective countries. UK-Commission For Consistent Learning (UKCCL) nominates professionally qualified and experienced academics and professionals to execute their tasks in many countries as their External Assessors and Verifiers. This facilitation is offered to ensure that every applicant could be able to appear in person to confirm their eligibility for the award. UK-Commission for Consistent Learning (UK-CCL) has a Regional Operational Director so as many countries as possible can maintain and execute the highest level of quality standards.

Does the ISO endorsement give any benefit to awarding institutions?

Yes, because all the candidates are assessed, examined and verified by UK-Commission for Consistent Learning (UKCCL) This function is carried out as per the methods and quality assurance to the level of ISO Standards and Professional Quality Management Standards of UK-Commission For Consistent Learning (UK-CCL)

Who are the Trustees of UK-CCL?

Currently they are Academically and Professionally Qualified Entrepreneurs and Businessmen and they offer their Professional Services on Honourable basis as UK-CCL is Non Profit and Quasi Charity Institution of Great Britain. Every Trustees who have decided to give their time and knowledge of experience free of charge with their own personal expertise to offer opportunity and privilege for every matured working individual in gaining the appropriate Professional Knowledge Qualifications.

How does the UK-CCL Operation Work?

The Executive Board of Governors and Councils have decided to setup their operation in the following manner.

  • Registered Office to handle all governmental enquiries.

  • International Coordination Office handles all enquiries and back office administrative operations. Consults all official matters in relation to the Consortium of Entrepreneurial       Administrators (CEA) Operation and executive official congregate for seminars, conference or meetings.

  • Business Development & Publication Office meets the request of marketing, promotions, and publication and advertising matters.

  • Governor General Office, where the official meetings of dignitaries are held.

Why assessment, examination and verification are given to UK-CCL?

Although quality assurance is a fundamental responsibility of every awarding institutions, but UK-CCL is authorized because they do handle quality professional services to the highest standards to the level of the ISO Standard and Guideline as the assessors, examiners and verifiers under reference of BS-EN-9001:2008 with certification number GB-14390. The International Standardization Organization (ISO) is the only quality assurance system recognized by the intergovernmental agreement between 148 different countries. The ISO encourages institutions to adopt the standards in both self-certification and external audit processes

Can any training or education provider gain the representation?

Yes, why not.UK-CCL welcomes any one to join in offering their Assessment and Verification services under the APEL and ACPD Schemes to offer opportunity to gain respective Professional Knowledge Entrepreneurial Qualifications as a potential new facilitator. The UK-Commission for Consistent Learning (UK-CCL) Office will coordinate via their respective representative as soon as possible.

What is UK-CCL PQMS

The UK-CCL PQMS 5001:2005 is a visible achievement for committed institutions or organisations to confirm their professional quality standards of best practices to customers as UK-CCL is a member of QMS International of Great Britain a Citation Company for certification of ISO 9001:2008.

Does UK-CCL give any credit for life experience?

Yes, under the scheme of ACPD & APEL, UK-CCL’s vision, mission and objective is to elevate every working licensed individual to gain a reputable and acceptable professional knowledge qualification and memberships to bring them to the level of an academic professional.

What is UK-CCL’s wishes

UK-CCL wishes to be known and accepted as a highly acclaimed Professional Knowledge Institution of Great Britain as the motivators of Non-Academic Lifelong Work Experienced Professional Knowledge Qualifications under criteria of National Qualification Framework (NQF) to enable learners, providers, employers and users of knowledge qualifications to understand the quality standards.

Are UK-CCL Certifications accepted in employment?

Yes, because UK-CCL promotes the hands on Lifelong Knowledge Learning as it is a Work Oriented practical and Professional Entrepreneurial Knowledge Certifications. When UK-CCL recommend any applicant by their certifications they are credit worthy person, as they are legitimately licensed work experienced individuals. It is made clear to everyone concern that, UK-CCL recommendation are carried out as the Professional Knowledge Achievement.

Therefore, acceptance and recognising comes as the individualised decision taken by the respective person or organisation and it is left to the individual discretion. It is with great pleasure, we can confirm that, many of our candidates have benefited with our professional knowledge certifications for their career enhancement. To this effect, we have received positive feedback from employers whom we have consulted, indicating that the personalized nature of our certifications and it has high appreciation from the private business community. In relation acceptance of UK-CCL Certifications, it is the responsibility for individual to verify and satisfy themselves. As currently UK Government does not have any monitoring organisation in this regard.

What is the Standard of UK-CCL Certifications?

  • 1. Level 1 Professional Knowledge Certificate                       -Level 2 of the NQF / NVQ

  • 2. Level 2 Professional Knowledge Diploma                          -Level 3 of the NQF / NVQ

  • 3. Level 3 Professional Knowledge Higher Diploma             -Level 4 of the NQF / NVQ

How the Assessment and Verification performed

It is made clear to every person concerned that for any person to gain UK-CCL’s Certification, they should follow the assessment and verification procedure, which has been explained above in this document. Below is the minimum work experience required for the specific level of certification.

Professional Knowledge Certificate                       -Level 2 – Minimum of Three Years Work Experience

Professional Knowledge Diploma                           -Level 3 – Minimum of Six Years Work Experience

Professional Knowledge Higher Diploma              -Level 4 – Minimum of Nine Years Work Experience

Professional Knowledge Executive Diploma        -Level 5 – Minimum of Twelve Years Work Experience

What you mean by Verbal Examination

It is mandatory for every candidate who is seeking the UK-CCL Professional Knowledge Certification to partake in a minimum of three verbal examinations in order to gain the notable Professional Knowledge Qualification. The Viva Examination is known as an applicant confirmation examination in which the candidate answers the questions orally rather than a written examination. The assessment board wishes to verify the ability of the candidate by way of requesting them to participate in a verbal examination (which shall normally be no less than one hour but can go up to a duration of three hours). This will take place usually on a one to one basis or a telephone or video conference. If it takes place in person, the candidate may be required to meet the costs of the examination. The verbal examination is compulsory to verify the professional knowledge and expertise of the person before conferring the Professional Knowledge Qualification.

Do you accept applications via telephone consultation?

UK-CCL does not believe in a telemarketing concept, but does depend and support personal and individual references. Telephone consultations are offered to clarify any doubts and assist the prospective candidates with any additional information that they may require. All applicants must Complete UK-CCL official application along with a detailed CV. These must be enclosed for the initial assessment to be carried out. The use of telephone processes in admissions is usually a cover for high-pressure sales and marketing counsellors paid on commission. UK-CCL always wants the applicant to think carefully and independently before making any decision and to be sure before enrolling. There is no high-pressure sales talk because UK-CCL emphasis is purely on achieving high quality awards and satisfaction.

What are the Fee Structure Procedures?

A Non-Refundable Registration fee is payable by every applicant at the time of initial submission of documentation. Thereafter, fees are determined by the Chief Bursary Officer who oversees the all the financial matters of UK-CCL. The fee structure is reviewed in the third week of December every year. Every provider of UK-CCL services must adhere to the fee structure that has been produced by the Bursary. The only person who has full authority to award any fee deduction will be the Executive Governor General. The fee comprises of Registration, Knowledge Assessment, Verifying and Awarding. All fees must be remitted to the UK-CCL Bank Account nominated by the Board of Governors and Trustees.

Can a UK-CCL Assessor/Verifier work as a facilitator for a UK-CCL learning programme?

Yes of course, but an Assessor/Verifier cannot be the facilitator for the same event (workshop or seminar). To monitor the event arrangement, the facilitators are assigned by the UK-CCL RO and the Assessor/Verifier is scheduled by UK-CCL.

What is the age limit to be an Assessor/Verifier?

There is no age limit imposed to act as a UK-CCL Assessor/Verifier as long as the person is above minor age limit and the would-be Assessor/Verifier maintains a healthy body and mind. UK-CCL appreciates and holds in high esteem elderly and well experienced individuals to take Assessor/Verifier responsibilities. UK-CCL believes that assessing candidates is a dynamic responsibility. Therefore, it needs enough experience in any field to collect suitable data, analyses and take appropriate decisions. UK-CCL Assessor/Verifiers should be able to reason out decisions, in case of an appeal of any decision taken.

How do UK-CCL Assessor/Verifiers get paid?

UK-CCL Assessor/Verifiers will be paid by the UK-CCL RO in the respective region. Assessor/Verifier appointment forms will be used to appoint the Assessor/Verifier for specific jobs. Based on the assessment (level of evaluation, time taken, tools used to support from the course provider, etc.), the price and the method of payment will be negotiated and finalised with the UK-CCL Regional Director. No one Assessor/Verifier may have the same remuneration.

Is the same standard used globally to assess candidates?

Yes, of course. Students are the same anywhere but the method of obtaining data can vary from place to place. UK-CCL works hard towards ‘GLOBALISED EDUCATION ’, which breaks geographical, language and cultural barriers in measuring and appreciating knowledge and skills.

Can Assessor/Verifiers apply for learning programmes, in fields other than their own major?

Yes, an Assessor/Verifier of one discipline can be a learner of another discipline.

Do you issue printed prospectus?

UK-CCL believes and supports a green environment, therefore it is readily available for print from their dedicated website and as such UK-CCL does not send it by postal mail.

Why UK-CCL formed Professional Knowledge Alliance(PKA)

The formation of Professional Knowledge Alliance (PKA) as a Private Limited Company was conceived by the Executive Board of Governors and Trustees of UK-Commission for Consistent Learning (UK-CCL), who are assessors and verifiers for several Professional Awarding Institutions who confers Professional Knowledge Qualifications. On the request of the awarding bodies, UK-CCL came up to incorporate a Global Networking Alumni and Entrepreneurial Business Consultancy Alliance with the name of Professional Knowledge Alliance (PKA).
